
There is some blockiness in the capture (most notable when I edit, it looks riddled with JPEG artifacts) but a little bit of sharpness boost (not much, like 15% at the most) straightens most of that out and a lot of it might just be the small preview window my editor uses freaking out over the rougher bits. If you have a Nvidia card, the NVENC.264 codec is capable of higher framerates on intensive games like Overwatch, though you will need a higher bitrate and the High-quality preset and profile in order to keep the capture from being indecipherable, this is where I get the blockiness. If the capture is getting overloaded, the framerate on the capture is tanking, or your CPU usage is really high, kick it back down a little bit and average it out. I don't record at a super high bitrate mostly because I'm on a laptop with limited memory, if I had the option of several TB of storage space or moving everything to archival HDDs, I would probably still maybe only bump it up to about 5000-6000, as every major step up has dimishing returns.Īll I can really say is bump it up a couple hundreds bits at a time and test out a recording.
